When the Earth quaked 
with its final jar

And the trumpet sounded 
over the global battlefield

A silence filled 
that aching void
The aching void 
I knew as war

And in the stillness
That followed the trumpet's 
last echo
We saw that dawn
Which all the redeemed 
had waited for 


And the peace 
that filled the air –
Left me humbled 
but not in despair


I knew that true greatness – 
I was about to see
And awesome power - 
clothed in humility

The absence of evil 
was breathtaking – 
yet serene
And my mind was clearing 
as though from a dream

And I knew this was reality – 
The first I’d ever seen

And in the presence of angels
I knew I was home
