When
the Earth quaked
with its final jar
And
the trumpet sounded
over the global battlefield
A silence filled
that aching void
The
aching void
I knew as war
And
in the stillness
That
followed the trumpet's
last echo
We
saw that dawn
Which
all the redeemed
had waited for
And the peace
that filled the air –
Left me humbled
but not in despair
I knew that true greatness –
I was about to see
And awesome power -
clothed in humility
The absence of evil
was breathtaking –
yet serene
And my mind was clearing
as though from a dream
And I knew this was reality –
The first I’d ever seen
And
in the presence of angels
I knew I was home

The Minstrel's Song
With
faltering steps
and quivering smile
I
walk
this narrow way.
And
though
the path
is oft impeded
From
its course
I will not stray.
For
my eyes
are beholding
the city above
And my ears
are filled
with the music
of His love
Now
many a martyr
has walked
this way before

the
crosses
they were bearing -
Lay
near the entrance
by the door.
So
do not
bestow on me
your pity -
For
sorrow,
grief,

For
the
Master Builder
has built it well –
This
burden –
I call my cross.

His voice
is a beacon
that calls
to me -

helps me
to be strong

in my heart
there gently
