The Walk - Lyrics page 3

The
Confession

I never ever lived
before Jesus
I never knew peace
or satisfaction of soul
Nor did I possess
a moment of joy
Until I joined hands
with Jesus

And so I walk -
to the wonder of men
In this world
so different from them
And rejoice in my wealth -
although hidden from eyes
And make Him my goal -
my hope and my prize

And ever abide
with Jesus

To tell you the truth -
and I’m telling it now
I live in His shadow
and humbly I vow
“I’ve never known
loneliness
or bitter disgrace
Since the
Lord of all Lords -
called me
by His Grace"
And although I walk -
so frail and so weak

My feet
have been washed -
by Jesus”

Glenn J. Leland

A Father’s
Prayer

Gentle Shepherd
of the sheep -
Oh please tend my lambs
Guide them
by Your great hand -
Tend my sheep

Oh dear Shepherd
watch and keep -
 Bring them in the fold
In your arms gently hold
Watch and keep

Draw them to your wounded side
Teach them Lord - how to abide
Bond them there

Give them Wisdom from above -
When they call in prayer
Make them soar
like the Dove
In your love

 Worldly wealth
they do not need -
By still waters lead
On your precious word - Lord
Let them feed
In Thy battle for this day
Help them fight -
Let them not stray
But endure

For Thy mercy
is forever -
Amen

The
Creation

Lord I stand amazed -
In awe of You
Thy universe displayed -
Ascribes glory to You
Thy great power and might -
Thy wisdom and Thy majesty
Are clearly seen

So that man may be
Without excuse

But Your people
Shall rejoice and dance
Yes dance -
Dance and sing for joy -
Dance and sing for joy
In all You do

Yes Your people
Shall again rejoice
Dance and sing -
Dance and sing
Dance and sing for joy
To the Lord

Let the people
Of His love rejoice
For the kingdom He has given you
And His glory
Shall be then upon you
Causing you
To dance and sing
For joy

That You May
Not Grieve

But we do not want you
to be uninformed,
brethren,
about those who
are asleep,

that you may not grieve,
as do the rest
who have no hope.

For if we believe that
Jesus died and rose again,
even so
God will bring with Him
those who have fallen asleep
in Jesus.

For this we say to you
by the word of the Lord,
that we who are alive,
and remain until the coming
of the Lord,
 shall not precede those
who have fallen asleep.

For the Lord Himself
will descend from heaven
 with a shout,
with the voice
of the archangel,
and with the trumpet of God;
and the dead in Christ
shall rise first.

Then we
who are alive and remain
shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air,
and thus we shall always be
with the Lord.

Therefore comfort
one another
with these words.
